Sunday, October 3rd @ 3:00 pm, Pastor Steve will be having a Blessing of the Animals Service on the lawn outside the Sanctuary.  Plan to bring your pet family member and be blessed!  Please have your pet on a leash, in a crate, in a bowl, in the car – whatever makes your pet most comfortable around others and join in.     

Pastor Steve is leading the Adult Sunday School class @ 9:40 am.  The study will be around the Rick Warren Book – “The Purpose Driven Church”.  The class is held in Fellowship Hall.  This class is for all Adults. 


Pastor’s Wednesday morning Bible Study meets at 10:00 am each week.  The study of The Imitation of Christ will continue.  Everyone is welcome to join in.


Zoom Bible Study will be held each Monday @ 7:00 pm led by Rev. Janet.  This session, the study will be of the Timothy Tennent’s book “Ten Words, Two Signs, One Prayer” which focuses on the 10 Commandments, Baptism and Communion and the Lord’s Prayer.  All are welcome to join in.  Contact Rev. “SWEET HOUR OF PRAYER” – Every Wednesday from 6:00 – 7:00 PM the sanctuary will be open for silent prayer.  Come for a few minutes or come for the whole hour.  There will be no formal agenda, simply an intentional environment for you to speak to and listen to God without any distractions.  The altar candles will be lit, inviting the Holy Spirit to meet us during this time.  Soft instrumental music will be played.  We ask you to arrive and leave in silence out of respect for others.  Rev. Janet Lord is coordinating.  The “SHOP” will continue through the month of October.

The United Methodist Women will be having a SOUP SALE on Sunday, September 26thThe soup of the day is Chicken Noodle at a cost of $5.00 per quart.  The soup will be available AFTER the services at 8:30 & 11:00 in the lounge while supplies last.


CHCUMC Charge Conference led by District Superintendent, Rev. Paul Ritchey, will be held here on Sunday, October 10th at 7:00 pm in the Sanctuary.  All church leaders are strongly encouraged and any member or friend is welcome to attend.  Greenock UM, Boston UM, and Elizabeth UM Churches will join us.

The Trustees have scheduled a FALL WORK DAY for Saturday, October 16th.  A sign-up sheet will be in the Narthex soon.  More details to follow.

Central Highlands will sponsor a TRUNK OR TREAT in our parking lot on Sunday, October 31st from 6-8 pm during the Elizabeth Township Trick or Treat Hours.  Bring your treats and greet the children. There is a sign-up sheet in the Narthex for those that plan to participate.  

ANYONE WISHING TO BE A PART OF THE HEARTS AFIRE CHOIR is welcome to join Choir Director, Jennifer Herrington and the choir members on Thursdays from 6:00-7:00 pm in the Choir Room for rehearsal.  Any questions, please contact Jennifer @ (412) 352-2589.

Bethesda United Presbyterian Church, 314 Third Street, Elizabeth will hold their advance order apple dumpling sale.  The apple dumplings are $4.00 each and may be picked up on Saturday, October 30 from noon until 2:00 p.m. at the Church.  Orders must be received by Sunday, October 24.  The apple dumplings may be ordered “baked” or “unbaked and frozen.”  Please call 412-384-9616 to order.  Please leave your name, phone number, number and type of apple dumplings requested if you get the answering machine.  You will receive a return phone call confirming your order.  You may also drop your order off at the Church (white mailbox on porch if no answer) or mail your order to the Church.  You may pay in advance (check payable to Bethesda Board of Deacons) or pay on pick-up.  The order forms are on the table in the Narthex.

The Washington District School of Lay Servant Ministries will be holding classes this fall on two Saturdays – November 6th and November 13th at the First UMC in Washington, PA.  Brochures are in the Narthex with the full course offerings. The classes are open to any that would like to become/or remain Certified Lay Speaker or Lay Servant.  Classes can also be for your personal enrichment.   More information can be found at

The WPA Conference annual Campership Bike-a-Thon will take on a different format this year following the pandemic hiatus.  The organizers have scheduled many opportunities to participate with many options for distance and location.  The remaining date is October 2.  Please refer to the WPA website for further details and to register or contact Chris Kindle @ This email address is being protected from spambots. The Round Hill Clothes Closet is available to anyone in need of clothing for women, men and children.  Please pass the word that the clothing is free and food pantry access is not a requirement.  An appointment is necessary to shop and can be made by calling the RH Church Office (412) 384-5889.  Also, if you have donations to drop off, please call ahead to the Round Hill Church Office to be sure someone is there to accept your donation.  Please don’t leave them outside the door.  Jan Gronlund is the Clothes Closet Coordinator and would be happy to answer any questions.

MEALS ON WHEELS - Please consider volunteering for MOW!!  Contact Linda (412) 751-2230 or call Suzie in the office to get on the schedule.  Thanks to all who volunteer for MOW.  You are appreciated.  When you are speaking with family, friends and neighbors, don’t forget about the services of the MOW Program.  Meals can be provided daily, a few times a week, on a temporary basis following an illness or long term.  The price is $4.00 per day which provides a hot, freshly cooked delicious meal and bagged items including milk – all delivered right to the doorstep.
