Early Dinner- Tonight we’re meeting at Longhorn, then next week on the 13th, we’re going to Rodney’s. Then later in August: R-Place, and Bob Evans. Hope to see you there!
Choir Practice- The first choir practice of the year will be on Thursday from 5:30 to 6:30.
UMW- Back to School and Back to UMW! United Methodist Women will have our first meeting of the season on Tuesday, September 1st at 1:00 pm. All women are welcome to attend. This is a fun and comfortable way to get to know your Sisters in Christ. Bring your lunch. Dessert and beverages will be provided.
Cookie Collection- This Sunday, August 16th is our Meals on Wheels Diabetic Cookie Collection. Please donate sugar-free cookies or cash to provide treats for our Meals on Wheels neighbors. Thank you for your care and generosity!
MOW Volunteers- There is an urgent need for drivers and runners to deliver meals to the elderly and needy of the Elizabeth Forward community. If you can spare a couple of hours (8:30 am to approximately 10:30 am) for 1 day a week or even 1 day a month that would be so helpful. We will work around your schedule. Please call MOW 412 751-2230.
Sewing With a Purpose- We’re hosting a sewing day on September 5th from 10 to 2. Both sewers and non-sewers are welcome! Please bring your own tools and a bag lunch.
Is There Interest? - In the narthex, there’s a sign-up for a Church Fantasy Football league; we need at least 8 people involved. If you are interested, please sign up in the Narthex! It’ll be a free league, perfect for beginners!
Sunday School Volunteers- Please see Phil if you’d like to help lead or assist with Sunday School starting up in September. Ideally, we’re looking for 3 adults who can each take one week per month. These volunteers are vital to keeping our Children’s ministry moving forward.
Trunk or Treat Interest Sheet- Phil is gauging interest in hosting a Trunk or Treat for the community on October 25th around 7 pm. We would close off our parking lot and invite the community to come and get candy. What Phil needs is a good number of “trunks” to make the event meaningful for the community. Please sign up in the narthex if you’d like to join!
Office Closure- Phil is out of the office this week. Colette will fill in to answer phones and whatnot, but Phil will be checking this email if you need anything.
Church Council- Council is meeting Tuesday the 25th at 7. Please get reports into Phil as soon as possible.
Highlander- Phil will work on the Highlander when he gets back. Please send any info for September to him.
